These kotpads are the original weaves from this community worn by the tribals and with time and intervention the texture has been modified to suit most but this original weave though thick is a stunning piece of craft that stands tall even among the brightest and most expensive silks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKotpad Handloom is a vegetable-dyed fabric woven by the tribal weavers of the Mirgan community of Kotpad village in Koraput district, Odisha. All the dyes used are organic for the drapes and textiles. It takes approximately 15 to 30 days for processing the color and dyeing threads into different colors. The main colors extracted are black and maroon.  But these days we see some variation in colours and you cannot but fall in love with them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese textiles are very easy to care for and we usually advice hand wash with mild detergent but owing to certain precautions not followed by some customers we have started advising dry cleaning.
